Category:Ship book citation templates

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The general syntax for the name of the template is either:

  1. the lead author's name followed by a "-" then a word to identify the book, or
  2. the book’s ISBN (if it has one). Since it should be to hand when you are quoting a citation, it is easy to find and remember.

N.B. Since most of these templates are transcluded, two or more editions in one template breaks the citation in multiple articles. Therefore, please do not add or expand an existing template – create a new one instead. With naming schema number 2, it is easy for editors to access the template for the edition that they are using.

As an example {{Plowman-Sitmar}} which contains

{{cite book
| last        = Plowman
| first       = Peter
| authorlink  =

| url = [the google books url for the book's front cover]
| location    = Dural, NSW
| publisher   = Rosenberg Publishing
| page        = {{{page|}}}
