Song thrush
The song thrush (Turdus philomelos) is a species of thrush that breeds across the West Palearctic. It has brown upperparts and black-spotted cream or buff underparts, and comprises three recognised subspecies. It has a distinctive song with repeated musical phrases. It was introduced into New Zealand between 1860 and 1880, where it quickly established itself.
