I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

List of current mixed martial arts champions[edit]

Hey just a quick heads up on your recent edits to this article. First and foremost Thanks for the time and interest. In the future I would ask however that you please take a look at the talk page before making large scale changes. I recently went through a major process of re-organizing this page, because I wanted to move it away from an opinion based format. I realize that the title holders in Strikeforce are better known (and pretty much just better) than their counterparts in M-1, however Strikeforce is a dying organization, and as an organization it's belts have less meaning than those in M-1 even if they're held by better fighters. Strikeforce is a much smaller organization, with fewer fighters, events, and current champions. They no longer hold a dominant (or really even relevant) share of the US market, while M-1 is the organization for all of Eastern Europe and Russia. A year or two ago, the story would have been different, but Strikeforce is fading fast. I do think this is a point for discussion though, so if you feel strongly about it, I'd love to talk about it. Beyond that, it is the position of this article not to include vacant belts that have never been awarded, once the first M-1 featherweight champ is crowned, they will be listed, and from that point forward the belt will be listed as vacant if there is not title holder, but for now, it only exists in-potentia. Also as a side not, Cormier's title is Heavyweight tournament champion, not actually Heavyweight champion, he has talked about this several times, and there is a great deal of confusion about it due to how he's been promoted, but his belt is a tournament belt only.
