Mohammed Shamsul Haque Bhuiyan (Bengali: ড. মোহাম্মদ শামছুল হক ভূঁইয়া; 1 July 1948 – 2 February 2024) was a Bangladesh Awami League politician who was a Member of Parliament from Chandpur-4.
Early life[edit]
Bhuiyan was born in Chandpur District on 1 July 1948. His father's name was Mohammad Hasmat Ullah and his mother's name was Hazera Begum. He graduated with an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka. After which he completed his PhD.[1]
Career[edit]
Bhuiyan was elected to Parliament from Chandpur-4 in 2014 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate.[2] He was the founder of Apollo University of Science and Technology in Chandpur.[3] He was the chairman of Appolo Group of Companies.[4] He was the chief executive officer of Destiny Group.[5] He was the President of Chandpur District unit of Bangladesh Awami League.[6]
Social Service Work[edit]
He is a social worker and educationist. With his contribution is established of Faridganj Upazila, the famous Gridkalindia Hazera Hasmat University College . It is the only honors college in Faridganj upazila. Which is a reputed Educational institutions in Faridganj. Besides, he founded Kaonia Shaheed Habib Ulya High School.
Death[edit]
Bhuiyan died in Dhaka on 2 February 2024, at the age of 75.[7]
