...Is it actually him?[edit]

I have seen this picture everywhere and it was even the featured image of the day, but it looks not much like any other portrait of Vice President Morton, even those taken not too long afterwards. I admit the nose is somewhat similar in some photos, and the eyes may be similar, but in later images of Morton, even much later, he appears younger and has full head of hair. I can't find any other image of Morton with whiskers or even moderate hair loss. (I have no idea what hair loss treatment was like then, but it doesn't appear to be a hairpiece or comb-over.) I even ran a newspapers.com search for Morton around the time, for a contemporary portrayal, but nothing turned up.

I now see this image used all over the Internet as representing Morton, but I am now worried this is an example of WP:CIRCULAR. I don't see it used by any official government sources. Can anyone confirm how this image was identified as Morton? Paging @Adam Cuerden: for help. -A-M-B-1996- (talk) 03:13, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I understand this is a LOC image and labeled as Morton, but I'm still skeptical. It must be at least possible the Library got it wrong, no? I have the same issue with this photography of Alexander Bullock, though not as severely since there is no date on either image and the difference is mostly facial hair:
