Summary

Description	English: Physicist John Tyndall (1820-1893) photographed in the early 1850s estimated date. In all likelihood, the image has been re-touched in modern times in way that makes it somewhat inauthentic, particularly his eye on your righthand side. For another version of the image see here.
Source	This mid-19th century photograph is today part of a wall display at the Royal Institution in London. The Royal Institution's wall display was photographed by the author of the blog Transcribing Tyndall, who put his photo up on the Net at flickr. Following the Bridgeman Art Library v. Corel Corp. case, neither the blogger nor the Royal Institution has copy protection under USA law.
