Summary

Description
English: Witton Park viaduct An unusual arrangement of road and rail bridges. The former runs diagonally through the latter. The railway is part of the Weardale line and is part of a project by the Weardale Railway to reopen it back to Shildon. Seeing a train is a rarity at present. This appears to have been a works train running in conjunction with the project to reopen this section of the line. The weir may well have been built to reduce the amount of scour round the viaduct piers when the river is in spate.
