English: Graph showing historical trend of cumulative sales of plug-in electric passenger cars in the United States by type of powertraing (BEV or PHEV) from December 2010 through 2023. Data series taken from EDTA (2019) and HybridCars.com (until 2017). Since 2018 through September 2019 EDTA used figures from InsideEVs. Sales figures between 2019 through 2023 taken from Argonne National Laboratory (see note). Graphic built by the author using Excel and converted to PNG with Photoshop Elements. Note: U.S. auto industry sales reporting methodology changed significantly beginning in October 2019, when many automakers ended monthly reporting or moved to an overall quarterly sales report without model breakdowns. |
