The image was reduced by 75% of its original resolution to become a low-resolution copy. A higher resolution version of the image was released through the Larimer County's Sheriff's Office website in 2002 and reproduced in media sources throughout the United States. The image was uploaded for inclusion in the English-language Wikipedia for identification of the article subject.

This media is a booking photo, more commonly known as a mug shot, normally produced in the regular operations of a law enforcement agency or correctional facility.
