Description
English: The steel wire of a field arrestment system catches the tailhook of a U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18C Hornet aircraft at Clark Airfield, Pampanga province, Philippines, Oct. 2, 2013, during Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX) 14. The aircraft was assigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 232, attached to Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force as part of a unit deployment program. PHIBLEX is a bilateral training exercise designed to improve the interoperability, readiness and professional relationships between the U.S. Marine Corps and partner nations.
