| Description |
English: This bridge spans a shallow valley which was the route the River Liffey may have taken at some time in the very distant past before switching to (and creating) the adjacent Poulaphouca gorge. Both Pollaphuca Bridge and this second bridge, crossing a dry gorge 150m to the southwest, were designed by architect Alexander Nimmo (1783-1832) in Gothic style and built between 1822 and 1827 for a total cost of £4,704. |
