Summary

Description

English: Facades, roof of the building located at quai Marché-aux-Poissons n°23.

This house is part of a complex dating back to the last third of the 17th century. Like the neighbouring houses, its facade is in the Louis XIV style, characterised by the alternation between stone (framing of the openings and bands) and brick (lighteners, overmantels and entablatures) and by its grid pattern. The horizontality is underlined by the bands that run along the entire façade and extend the lintels of the windows. The verticality is accentuated by the continuity of the pedestals of the windows on both levels.

The facade, placed on a fitted base, is open with narrow bays with slit frames. The sills and overmantels are covered with a red paint. The coyote gabled roof is covered with slate and is open with a dormer window with a front hipped roof and scroll wings.
