Description
English: Stained glass window, St Peter's church, Hever, Kent. Memorial to w:Gavin Astor, 2nd Baron Astor of Hever (1 June 1918 – 28 June 1984), of Hever Castle.
  • Left, top to bottom: St Paulinus and arms of the See of York; Saint w:William of Perth (died c. 1201), martyred at Rochester in Kent and buried in Rochester Cathedral, holding a model of Rochester Cathedral, with the arms of the See of Rochester above; arms of Gavin Astor, 2nd Baron Astor of Hever.
  • Centre, top to bottom: Coat of arms of Kent; Saint Peter with crowing cock and holding Keys to Kingdom of Heaven and a model of Hever Church, dedicated to him.
  • Right, top to bottom: St Augustine, Archbishop of Canterbury in Kent, with arms of See of Canterbury; Saint Thomas Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury, with his attributed arms (three Cornish choughs) with a medley of scraps of mediaeval stained glass. Signed: "John Hayward 1986".
