Published without a copyright notice in United States War Finance Department publication The Army at War, 1943. Due to the nature of that publication, and because von Ripper is depicted in uniform, I strongly suspect this is also PD due to being a work of an employee of the US government as part of their official duties, but as no photographer is given I can't definitely confirm that.
