Summary

Description
English: Pictured are two Royal Air Force Typhoon aircraft and a Voyager Strategic Tanker Aircraft, taxiing ready to depart for an Op SHADER sortie over the Middle East.

The Typhoons will perform air to air refuelling from a Voyager (also ready to take off) to increase the Typhoons operating range over the Middle East.

Having first deployed into combat for Op Ellamy (over Libya) in 2011, Typhoon began an enduring commitment to Op Shader (in Iraq and Syria) in December 2015.

It has also been used for Baltic Air Policing efforts under Op Azotize and bolstered NATO air defence over the Black Sea when deployed to Romania and Iceland, in addition to the standing commitment of QRA in the UK and Falkland Islands.
