English: Prehistoric bicycle, Weetwood Moor. These plans for a prehistoric bicycle were recently discovered on a Northumberland Moor 1780245. Several thousand years before the supposed invention of the wheel, the rock-carved plans, known as 'Billy's Bicycle', show that the advanced civilisation resident on Weetwood Moor developed and perhaps used such ecologically sustainable modes of travel. Dr Avril Fuelle of Newcastle University was reported as saying "When everyone else at the time was rolling stuff around on logs, hunting and gathering, Weetwood Man had clearly developed more advanced modes of transport. Having found a pair of strange wooden clips in a nearby burial cairn some years ago, we are now searching for remains of the bicycle itself". |
