DescriptionMark 11 Mod 2 missile launcher aboard USS Chicago (CG-11), circa in 1970.png
English: United States Navy GMLS Mark 11 Mod 2 port side missile launcher aboard USS Chicago (CG-11), circa in 1970. The RIM-24 Tartar magazines aboard Albany-class cruisers overhung the sides of the ship requiring safety nets visible outboard of the launcher. The blue missiles with white wings were dummy testing missiles used for display purposes. The circular hatch visible below the nearer missile is a door to vertical magazine cells below the launcher accessed by rotating the circular magazine cover and launcher over the cell to be loaded. The rectangular hatch visible on the deck behind the launcher was used to transfer RIM-8 Talos missiles into the forward Talos magazine.
