ગુજરાતી: ૧૯૭૧નાં પાકિસ્તાન સાથેનાં યુધ્ધ દરમ્યાનન પાકિસ્તાની બોમ્બ મારાથી ભુજની હવાઇ પટ્ટી 'તહસનહસ' થઇ ગઇ હતી. ભારતીય સૈન્ય તરફથી આક્રમણ કરવા માટે વાયુસેના ને હવાઇ પટ્ટીની જરૂરત હતી.
યુધ્ધ નાં વાતાવરણમાં બોમ્બમારા વચ્ચે સાચા અર્થમાં “જાન હથેલી પે લે કે” માધાપર (ભુજ-કચ્છ)ની ૩૦૦ મહિલાઓએ એક આખી રાતમાં યુધ્ધનાં ધોરણે કામ કરીને હવાઇ પટ્ટીનું નિર્માણ કર્યુ હતું. આ "વીરાંગનાં સર્કલ"નું ઉદઘાટન સરંક્ષણ મંત્રી મનોહર પરીકર તેમજ (તત્કાલીન) માનવ સંશધાન મંત્રી સ્મૃતિ ઇરાની દ્વારા ર૭ મી ઓગસ્ટર ૨૦૧૫નાં રોજ થયું હતું, વાંચવામાં આવ્યા મુજબ એ ૩૦૦માંથી માંડ ૩પ જેટલી જ વીરાંગના ઓ જીવીત છે. |
