Summary

Description

English: Maulde Castle was built for Viscount Cossée de Maulde. Built by the architect Ph. De Bource in 1755 on the site of an old castle of the sixteenth century, the manor retains a tower of that time. The current estate includes a castle, a main courtyard, the old tower, the eighteenth century tower, brick sheds and a farmhouse on the west side. The 16th century tower is of a traditional type. It is located to the right of the castle and is connected to it by a short wing built in the eighteenth century. On a rubble base, the tower stands on three levels of brick. It is covered with a roof of slate pepper planted with an ear. The first levels are illuminated with rectangular harpooned bay windows and flat stone lintel and low relief arch.
