c/n 89A-813 - built in 1989 for the NVA - operated in Interflug-colours for the Gov. of the GDR as DDR-SFB - transferred to the LUFTWAFFE 10/1990
The aircraft was converted in 1995 to the German "Open Skies"-platform. In 1992, the Open Skies agreement between NATO and the former Warsaw Pact states was signed allowing the parties to overfly and take photos of the respective territory.
crashed 13.09.1997 - mid-air collision with USAF C-141 Starlifter 120 km west of Namibia (24 fatalities)
