Wealden Hall House built circa 1435... Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 By J M - 10 Nov 2009 Grade II* listed. The main/front building seen today was built circa 1435 in the time of King Henry VI of the House of Lancaster. Originally the home of the Hendens. Later the Manor of Henden owned by the Harlackendens. Sir Edward Waterhouse, Knight Chancellor for Ireland to Elizabeth I, lived here and died here in 1591. His Tudor marble tomb can be seen in All Saints Church behind a curtain by the organ. The fine Kent peg tiled roof, with original shape and 550 years old rafters, is maintained by Karl Terry Roofing (Kent Peg specialists)
