Summary

Description
English: Harrison Road bridge, Union Canal, Edinburgh The local artists have rather crudely added their girlfriends' name and initials to Harrison Road bridge, which separates Harrison Park, Merchiston, into two parts. Beyond the bridge the cream building is the headquarters of the Forth Canoe Club, one of whose members was to win a medal at the Beijing Olympics later in 2008. It is believed that this building originated with a boating society of the former North British Railway, who bought the canal in the 19th century. It occupies one of two spits of land that narrow the canal and were the site of an accommodation bridge across the canal when the area was still open agricultural fields.
