Summary

Description
English: Example of the contents of a net fished in the mesopelagic, specifically in the North East Atlantic. Small lanternfish (Benthosema glaciale) dominate the catch, alongside invertebrates such as crustaceans and gelatinous zooplankton. Other fish include viperfish, smoothheads, pearlsides, hatchetfish, and other larger lanternfish.
