Deutsch: Die obere Schildhälfte verweist auf die ehemalige Zugehörigkeit zum Kurfürstentum Trier. Palmzweige und Buch sind einem alten Siegel aus dem Ende des 11. Jahrhunderts von St. Paulin entnommen. Der Ort Heddert gehörte zur Hälfte dem Kollegiastift St. Paulin Trier. Der Entwurf des Wappens stammt von Karlheinz Brust aus Kirn. Brust wurde am 29. Juli in Kirn-Sulzbach geboren. Mehr als ein halbes Jahrhundert lang war er eine Institution in der bildenden Kunst in seiner Heimatstadt. Unter anderem wurde er 1995 mit der Ehrennadel des Landes Rheinland-Pfalz ausgezeichnet.
