English: The double hull long-haul ferry CALAIS-DOUVRES (L.C.& D.R. (London, Chatham and Dover Railway)) lying in Dover in the 1880s. The two hulls are held together by iron ribs. The paddle wheels sit between the hulls. 4 funnels. Direct steam pressure. 600 hp. The speed was 13 knots. Taken out of traffic in 1887. Sold for coal storage on the Thames after lying up in Tilbury.
