Description
English: Bronze Buddha image, from Gandhara, Sahr-i Bahlol, Peshawar Valley Pakistan, about 400-700 AD. 1981,0610.1. Portable devotional image, a rare type. With stylistic features from both Gandhara and northern India, indicating exchanges between the two: Gandhara-style drapery, radiating halo design (also found in Bamiyan), and a face similar to Gupta period Sarnath school figures.
