Русский: Иллюстрация из Еврейской энциклопедии Брокгауза и Ефрона (1906—1913). Этот амулет считается одним из наиболее действительных и служит для ограждения роженицы и ее дитяти от волшебных чар, дурного глаза и влияний демонов и помещен в кн. «Разиель» с подробными наставлениями к употреблению. Приписывается он самому Адаму. Четыре имени вокруг него — названия четырех рек, вытекающих из рая (Быт., 2, 10). В кайме круга помещены: выдержки из Псалма 91, ст. 11; имена Адама и Евы; также слова חוץ — לילזת ошибочная, по всей вероятности, форма для ליליה, ночного злого духа женского пола, упоминаемого у Исаии, 34, 14 как название ночной птицы; талмудическая же легенда называет этим именем мать персидского Аримана: יליה, הודמין בד (Баба Батра, 73а). Значение слов חוץ ליליה - да уйдет Лилит вон. Далее следуют слова «первая Ева» и имена ангелов и Бога (כוװ - יהוה, причем в этом имени каждая буква заменена соседней с нею по алфавиту, напр. י - כ, ה - ו и т. д.). Вне «щита Давида» стоят священные письмена, составленные из начальных букв слов общеизвестной молитвы Нехунии бен-Гаканы, אנא בכח, из коих слова קדע שט значат «да треснет сатана!» Внутреннее пространство, наконец, заключает в себе выдержки из кн. Исх., 11, 8 и перестановки букв слова קוף, которое означает обезьяну и мистическое значение которого неясно. (Из J. E., I, 549).
