English: Bewley Building erected by Richard C. Bewley in 1929 this structure occupies the site of the Hodge Opera House and Merchant’s Gargling Oil buildings which were destroyed by fire in 1928. Stone from the original buildings is visible on the rear of the structure. The building has passed through generations of Richard Bewley’s family including Charles C. Bewley a prominent real estate broker.
