Summary

Description
English: Pencil, sepia and beige wash drawing on beige paper shows view of mercury [quicksilver] mines at New Almaden. The milling complex, known as Hacienda de Beneficio (Hacienda Reduction Works), is shown along a narrow valley near Alamitos Creek. The raw ore is brought in on packs carried by a mule train and teams of oxen carry wagons full of mercury uphill.
Español: Dibujo en papel café claro, hecho con lápiz y tinta de color sepia y café claro, muestra vista de minas de mercurio en New Almaden. La molienda, conocida como la Hacienda de Beneficio, se ve entre un valle angosto debajo del Arroyo Alamitos. El mineral en bruto llega en bultos cargados por burros y bueyes se llevan el mercurio en vagones.
