Description

c/n PS32. Built 1962, retired 1983. Wears the markings of 617sqn RAF, the famous 'Dambusters'. On display at the Midland Air Museum, Coventry Airport, UK. 11-10-2015

The following info is from the Midland Air Museum website:-

“The Vulcan first flew in 1952 and operated from 1957 to 1969 as part of the British nuclear deterrent force, later serving as a conventional bomber. Armed with the Blue Steel nuclear missile and powered by 4 Rolls-Royce Olympus engines, it only saw combat in the conventional bombing role during the 1982 Falklands War. Our example was retired in 1983 and flown into Coventry Airport; she was named City of Coventry after her arrival.”
