Summary

Description
English: A partial reconstruction of Cramalt Tower by Megget Reservoir Cramalt Tower was a 15th century tower stronghold now flooded by the reservoir. A reconstruction of part of the tower is in the foreground. The original tower was three or four storeys high and had its own pit prison for captured reivers and outlaws.

Megget Reservoir opened in 1983 and supplies 100 million litres of water to Edinburgh and Lothians every day. Water is carried to Edinburgh by 45km of underground pipes. Megget Reservoir is managed as a wild brown trout fishery and is owned by East of Scotland Water.
