hool house and SixAlms Houses in this Parish. Hee departed this lifethe 18 Febry 1704 in ye 74th. year of his age.The inscription then records the death of his widow and onlychild. The monument is surmounted by a shield of arms :Ermine, a lion rampant sable, within a bordure sable ; impaling,per pale gules and azure, three eagles displayed or. Crest: ahorses head and neck couped. Pritchard acquired the Manor of Great Linford in 1683, for£19,500 and bequeathed it to his wife, for life with remainder tohis nephews, Richard Uthwatt and Daniel King,2 and it is now 1 It is stated in his funeral certificate (as quoted in Miscellanea Genealogicaet Heraldica ) that his only son died unmarried in 1695 in his twenty-fifth year,and in The Dictionary of National Biography, that he had three sons and onedaughter; but at the foot of his monument is an inscription which records thedeath of William, his only child/ in 1685 in the sixteenth year of his age. 2 Lipscombes History of Buckinghamshire. 74
