Italiano: Palazzo Castiglioni in Corso Venezia a Milano (di Giuseppe Sommaruga), "manifesto" artistico dell'Art Nouveau a Milano (1904). Decorato in origine da due prosperose cariatidi seminude di Ernesto Bazzaro, questo portone meritò al palazzo il poco lusinghiero soprannome di "Ca' di ciapp" ("Casa delle chiappe") suscitando polemiche fino a che le statue "scandalose" furono rimosse e sostituite con la presente, innocua decorazione scolpita da Ambrogio Pirovano. English: The facade of Palazzo Castiglioni in Corso di Porta Venezia in Milan, Italy, by Giuseppe Sommaruga, a sort of "manifesto" of the Art Nouveau style in Milan. The door was originally flanked by two half-nude, sensuous caryatids by Ernesto Bazzaro, which caused a stir in town because of their "outrageous" eroticism. The palace was dubbed "Ca' di ciapp" ("The bum-house") and eventually the offending statues were removed, putting at their place the current, mean decoration by Ambrogio Pirovano.
