English: Presentation of reliquaries of holy women on top of the choir stairs of the Basilica of Our Lady in Maastricht, Netherlands. This is part of a church service in which the main relics of the church are venerated. It is one of the highlights of the 2018 Heiligdomsvaart ("relics pilgrimage"), a religious and historic event that takes place once in seven years and dates back to the Middle Ages. The main relic presented here is the girdle of the Virgin Mary. |
