Description
English: The University of Michigan solar car crosses the finish line at the University of Calgary in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to win first place during the 2,500-mile North American Solar Challenge on July 27, 2005. The 2005 North American Solar Challenge (ASC) was a cross-country solar race held from July 17 to 27, 2005. The race started in Austin, Texas and followed U.S. Route 75 and the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Teams faced varied climates, topography, and road conditions. It was the first time the world's longest solar car race went through the U.S. and Canada.
