Starokrscanska crkva postojala na mjestu sadasnje. Temelji i stecak starohrvatske plemicke obitelji Potocnik stajao do 19. st. uz novoizgrađenu pravoslavnu crkvu. Maknut zbog glagoljaskih obiljezja i gotskih znamenja koje nakon drugog svjetskog rata kvarile sliku povjesti hrvatskog naroda kao grkokatolike i pravoslavce , te starokrscane sa gotskim porijeklom. Ne paše uz novosrpsku povjest u ovim krajevima koja je tada nijekala ikakvo postojanje drugih etnika bizantske vjerske šizme
