English: Striving for Freedom is JHC's signature educational experience; it is site-specific play for 4th through 7th graders that engages students in a discussion about the abolition of slavery in New York State. The interactive program examines the lives of two sisters, Mary and Clarinda who were slaves owned and emancipated by members of the Jay family.
