Did Stokley leave in 1979 or 1980? Both are listed in this article.
Why is there no reference to the single "How Could This Go Wrong"? Youtube has the video of it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.7.218.94 (talk) 23:30, 31 August 2016 (UTC)

Proposed merge of Jimmy Stokley into Exile (American band)[edit]
Stockley does not appear to be notable independently of the band. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 08:56, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
There appear to be some unreliable and self published sources in the Exile (American band) article. This has led to a plethora of websites publishing the wiki article which in turn become cited as a reliable source in said wiki article. I have tried to remove one such source but as a novice Wikipedian I'm not sure exactly how to rectify this, and haven't yet grasped citing the same source several times in one article.
There is much controversy over Jimmy Stokley leaving the band and exactly when he left, if he was ousted or not, and if this contributed to alcoholism and subsequent death. Certain current band members who have benefitted from the years without Stokley blame other reasons such as his voice weakening or loss of enthusiasm, also a clash with the producers Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn, however, again all seem opinion and heresay. Finding reliable sources after 40 years is not easy. Stokley has several fan pages on Facebook, many fans stated they were unable to follow the band Exile after Stokley was pushed out at the height of their success, due to other members wishing to change the band to a Country Music band, and attempts to remove Stokley from the history books.

- This discussion has been defunct for several months, but I just happened to come to it today. I have to agree that Stokley had little notability outside of the band, and the articles should be merged. The individual article on Stokley consists largely of unreliable and non-notable fancruft on his early bands. His untimely death got media coverage, but that can be included in Exile's article (and already is). Unless anyone objects, I will complete a merge sometime soon, which would also be an opportunity to clean up some unsupported fancruft at the band's article too. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 21:31, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
- Since there is no further discussion, I will be bold and do the merge today, with a cleanup of Exile's article along the way. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 17:39, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
