Usage?[edit]

Could someone add information explaining when to use this as opposed to {{split}}? Thanks. Jubilee♫clipman 18:47, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Split is for a disambigious page to be created, typically when 3 or more articles have the same name. Split2 is for two articles. SunCreator (talk) 14:21, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How can section or article be specified?[edit]

The default phrase "article or section" can in maintenance templates usually be specified to be either one by a parameter, usually the first. How can this be done with this template? __meco (talk) 15:08, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it can, but there are the split section templates linked to from the "See also" section. —DragonHawk (talk|hist) 19:41, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The {{split-section}} template is for different circumstances than the present template. As this functionality is pretty standard in such templates, the necessary code to implement it should be added. __meco (talk) 08:52, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Size[edit]

It's quite a valid reason to consider splitting article that are big into two or more. See WP:SIZERULE SunCreator (talk) 14:21, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
