It's Exciting[edit]

It's overwealming to get something you proposed like this template to become used on every championship article. It make me proud of it!--Hornetman16 13:27, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oldest champion[edit]

Shouldn't this be the last day they held the title? If someone was the second oldest to win the title but ended up being the oldest by the time they lost the title, wouldn't they be the oldest champion? Under the current guidelines, they would not be listed as the oldest champion. TJ Spyke 02:16, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why was this template moved without a discussion? chrisianrocker90 23:20, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 4 April 2016[edit]

Looking at the new WWE Women's Championship page and noticed it's listed as: Date won April 3, 2016 Date established April 3, 2016

Should it not be Date established first? Since it would be impossible to win a championship that has not yet been established. This might come into play with other titles where it was announced (established) in advance, and then won later at a PPV.

@Hash25: The "date won" parameter is only used on active championships, in combination with "current champion". In that instance it lists the current information at the top, which seems more useful to me. Prefall 09:29, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. fredgandt 23:38, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Addressing title vacancies[edit]

With the recent vacancy of the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, it got me thinking about how we address title vacancies in the infobox. Currently, when a title is vacated, we just replace whoever the champion was in the |currentholder= parameter with "Vacant" and we remove the date (so it doesn't tell a reader how long it's been vacant). But, this displays as "Current champion(s): Vacant", which isn't exactly correct, as vacant isn't a person that can be a "current champion".

What I propose is that we add a |vacated= parameter that when checked "yes", it would appear in the infobox as "Status: Vacant".

I also propose to add a |date_vacated= parameter that when filled in with the date, it would appear in small text in parentheses under Vacant saying "(as of [date])", similar to the |aired= parameter. JDC808 01:11, 24 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that seems like a much better approach. And small suggestion, we could just cut out the double parameter and use |vacated=May 23, 2023 to list "Status: Vacant (as of May 23, 2023)" and have a fallback option of |vacated=yes to list the undated "Status: Vacant". E.g.,
| label8 = Status
| data8        = {{#if:{{{vacated|}}}|Vacant{{#ifeq:{{{vacated}}}|yes||<br />(as of {{{vacated}}})}}}}

That thought actually crossed my mind but I didn't know if it would be easy to implement or not. But I agree, that would be better to just have the one parameter instead of two. JDC808 03:30, 24 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, I think this is better. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 07:27, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Prefall, there hasn't been any further responses, but this seems like it is probably something that could be implemented without issue if you want to go ahead and implement it. --JDC808 01:36, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Prefall 02:50, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I applied the new parameter to SWA World Championship (as it was the only title currently vacant, at least as listed at 2023 in professional wrestling). The new parameter turned out nicely. --JDC808 07:24, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
