Developing this template[edit]

I created this as a basic template a while back. I'd like to expand the template and add more parameters before rolling it out, and would welcome suggestions on what to add. Maybe the winners of professional leagues, winners of cups and performance of the national team? --Jameboy (talk) 00:52, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should be good to go, that's what came into my mind as well. What is meant with "performance of the national team", a record listing in the form "Wins-Draws-Losses" including goals for and against? --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 10:11, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I was actually just thinking of something like (taking the example of 2007-08 in English football):
England team: UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying Group E, 3rd place (failed to qualify)
However I've just thought of a problem with this, or maybe not a problem but something that perhaps the season task force might need to consider. Most season articles that I have seen (for English clubs at least) use 30 June as the season cut-off point, but a World Cup or Euro Championship could go on into July. Maybe if the cut-off period was 30 June and the national team does reach a tournament that finishes in July, we could just consider it to be part of the previous season and footnote it accordingly. I realise this is quite an England-centric comment, but the same sorts of considerations would need to be made for other countries, even if the actual season dates differed. Defining what constitutes a season is probably quite a fundamental thing here, especially as national teams don't really have seasons as such. --Jameboy (talk) 19:20, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For some reason, the previous season and next season parameters don't work. Can someone please fix the template so that when the country parameter is "Abkhazia", the prevseason and nextseason show "in Abkhazian football"? Nehme1499 14:53, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
