Example needed[edit]

This template's documentation would really benefit from an example Infobox of how it is supposed to look (e.g. like Template:Infobox public transit does). I'd nominate the Waterfront Red Car as a potential example system, though I'll note the way that article's Infobox uses the 'stageyears' and 'stage' parameters seems wrong, so an example of that with the parameters used the right way would certainly be welcome here... --IJBall (talk) 23:25, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Parameter queries[edit]

Can anyone explain the purpose of the parameters "Era" (currently labelled as an unknown quantity in the example) and "Color" (currently unmentioned in the example)? Timothy Titus Talk To TT 18:03, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also "Template Name" which is similarly ignored in the example. Timothy Titus Talk To TT 18:38, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Timothy Titus: None of those parameters exist. However, |color= and |era= are both valid parameters (param names are always case-sensitive). Of those, |color= is used add a stripe below the image, and set the colour of that. The colour value is a three- or six-character RGB hex triplet, similar to the |col= values in {{rail line}} and similar templates. |era= is free-form text, and it is displayed after the label "Preserved era". Where do you see "Template Name" mentioned? --Redrose64 (talk) 18:46, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for those explanations. The templatename parameter is the final one on the template. Timothy Titus Talk To TT 18:54, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It wasn't at all useful in articles, only one page had it set to a non-blank value - see this revision of Chelatchie Prairie Railroad, where it produced pointless (if not downright misleading) v-t-e links at the bottom of the infobox. I've removed all instances of |templatename= whether blank or not. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:40, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Map issue[edit]

Judging by its use on South Tynedale Railway, this templates use of maps is not standard. What's up, and how can it be fixed? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:49, 19 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
