Huang Guo-shu → Huang Kuo-shu (born 1905) – Naming of "Guo-shu" seems not to be in accordance with Wade–Giles naming custom. Alternative would be Huang Guoshu but "Kuo-shu" is preferred for the prevailing use of Wade–Giles in Taiwan. Reference see Taiwan Today report. ~~ J. Support some kind of move to "Huang Kuo-shu" with a suitable disambiguator; more correct Wade-Giles seems to be what more (at least the older) sources use, and disambiguating between two legislators in Taiwan by choice of (incorrect) romanisation seems like a bad idea. I don't know whether "general" or "President of the Legislative Yuan" would work even better, but the romanisation issue should be fixed. —Kusma (talk) 09:41, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: The source cited above is from 1964, when Wade-Giles was much more commonly used than it is today. How do modern sources transliterate the subject's name? This source, cited in the article, uses pinyin "Huang Guoshu". We generally use pinyin unless modern English-language sources favor a different spelling (WP:PINYIN). That said, I agree it seems confusing to distinguish the two subjects only by choice of romanization. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 16:49, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
