Fair use rationale[edit]

This logo should be retained because Worcester Red Sox is about to be split into its own article, rather than existing as a subsection of Pawtucket Red Sox. As with innumerable sports teams articles on Wikipedia, displaying a team's logo is integral to a discussion of the team, and also confirms to readers that they've arrived at the correct page. Dmoore5556, it should not be deleted before the date given in the template on the file page, so, provided an article passing WP:GNG exists before then, and the rationale can be altered to be valid, the image can be retained. If all that isn't actually done in time to prevent deletion you can always reupload it when it has a valid use rationale (or ask at WP:REFUND) - perhaps you should keep a copy of the current version locally on your device for convenience, just in case. -- Begoon 02:47, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. What I forgot is that I also have a copy of the latest version retained on my local device, as I did the background removal/non-free size reduction - so, between us, I don't think we are in much danger of "losing" it
