Question of scale. The figure should be redrawn to indicate the difference in scale between forward and reverse biases. If drawn to the same scale, the I-V curve would be smooth curve passing through 0 bias. Here the curve shows a kink at zero, suggesting that more current flows at small backward biases than at small forward biases. In fact the opposite is true, as would be made clear if the vertical axis were labeled in microamps on the left and milliamps on the right.CharlesHBennett (talk) 18:32, 26 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
