Last night I sent a hurried postal saying that ithad been rumored that war had been declared withMexico, and I was down on the draft which was togo out to-day. Well my name was down and alot of us got ready last night but to-day a bunchof us were left off the draft which leaves on theTacoma for Mexican waters early to-morrow, andit may be a number of weeks before we go out andwe may get sent off next week. It seemed so good to have gotten back here andthe same day to hear that we were to be hurriedlysent off to Mexico that it is quite a disappointmentnot to be going with the ones who seem to be solucky; but we all are hoping to get away soon andsee real service and perhaps a touch of fightingwith the greasers.
