English: A tornado that killed eight people in an 81-mile path from Monette, AR, to Samburg, TN, on December 10, 2021, is pictured approaching a barn between Hayti and Caruthersville, MO. The storm leveled the cloth-sided barn that was used by Penny Newman Grain Co. to store cottonseed for loading onto railcars. Inside the barn, winds or blowing debris twisted the cab of a 25-ton Trackmobile railcar mover. Lightning flashes iluminate the sky, while the lights of Hayti can be seen to the northwest. The picture is a screen grab from a surveillance camera mounted on the facility's scale office. The scale office was undamaged and the camera recorded the approach of the tornado until about 8:10 p.m. when electric power failed.
