DescriptionThree Sumerian statues, Early Dynastic Period, 2900-2350 BCE, from Khafajah, Iraq. The Sulaymaniyah Museum.jpg
English: Three Sumerian statues dating back to the Early Dynastic Period of Mesopotamia, 2900-2350 BCE. From Khafajah, in modern-day Dyala, Iraq. The Sulaymaniyah Museum, Iraqi Kurdistan.
The two statues on the left were excavated by the Oriental Institue of the University of Chicago, 4th season, 1933/1934. The statue on the left was a donation to the Iraqi Museum in Baghdad. The middle one is on the Oriental Institute's list of Lost Treasures from Iraq after April 2003. However, all of those statues have been housed at the Sulaymaniyah Museum since October 1961, as a permanent loan from the Iraqi Museum.
