English: 2D array visualizing all real spherical harmonics up to l=10. Spherical harmonics are visualized on polar plots. The magnitude of the spherical harmonic is represented by the saturation of the polar plot at a given polar and azimuthal angle and the phase of the spherical harmonic is represented by the hue at given polar and azimuthal angles. The amplitude of the spherical harmonic (magnitude and sign) is represented as the elevation above and below a uniform spherical surface. |
