Summary

Description
English: Major components of Scope soldering iron: handle made from a thermosetting plastic, pushrod assembly, with (+ve) crimp connection for 12-SWG cable at left, ceramic sliders and return spring, and graphite tip at far right. The mild-steel barrel has fine thread which screws into brass ring (the -ve connection) on left, copper screw-in "bit" on right. At top is the "sliding ring" which engages with the pushrod to complete the circuit, generating heat at the tip.
